Spring is on the way and it is around this time of year we start to feel motivated to spring clean our homes and even our lives!!  Spring is a great time to give your body, mind, and space a fresh start. Spring cleaning can help you feel healthier, more focused, and more organized. Physically, it can help reduce allergens in your home, as well as help you get rid of clutter and make your space more organized. Mentally, it can help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as help you focus on the tasks at hand. Clearing out the unnecessary can be liberating and help you feel more productive. Additionally, spring cleaning can help bring in more positive energy and light into your environment. By clearing out the old, you’re making space for the new. So get ready to spring clean and reap the benefits!

So how and where do we start! I’ve compiled a few steps that I’ve read that we can implement that will help start you on your way to a lighter, brighter Spring!

1) Spruce up your diet. I know we hear this one a lot but it really does make a difference to how you feel. Switching up what you’ve been eating may help you to feel more energized, lighter, and less fatigued.

Exercise, going for a walk has many health benefits. Walking has been proven to improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress, improve mood, and help manage weight. Walking can also help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some forms of cancer. Walking can also help increase energy levels, improve sleep, and sharpen cognitive skills. Taking a walk every day can be a great way to get in some physical activity and improve your overall health. In fact, Klaperski et al 1999 found that exercising outdoors were associated with more stress-reductive effects as the outdoors were deemed a more calming environment. Keeping up with a regular exercise that you enjoy doing will certainly assist you in staying fit and healthy.

2)Refresh your soul: Spring cleaning your soul can help you clear out any stress and negativity that has built up over the winter months. Make time for yourself: Whether it’s a hot bath, a yoga class, or just reading your favourite book, make sure you carve out time to relax and do something for yourself. Practice gratitude, taking a few minutes each day to be grateful for the good things in your life can help bring a sense of peace and clarity. Challenge yourself, trying something new to get yourself out of your comfort zone and learn something new can help you grow and give you a feeling of accomplishment.

3) Space around you: Decluttering your home can have a positive impact on your physical and mental health. It can reduce stress, help improve focus and concentration, and create a healthier living environment. It can also help reduce clutter-related accidents and make cleaning easier. Decluttering can help reduce the time and energy you spend on organizing and managing items in your home, freeing up time for more enjoyable activities. Finally, decluttering can give you a sense of accomplishment and help you feel more in control of your living space.

Spring cleaning is a great way to start the season off right! It can help you reset both your body and mind, as well as your home. Physically, it can help you get rid of toxins that have built up over the winter, allowing your body to detox and feel refreshed. Mentally, it can help you clear out any negative or unhealthy thoughts and emotions, creating a more positive and relaxed mindset. And finally, spring cleaning your home can help make it a more organized and inviting space to be in, helping you to feel more relaxed and energized.

So what will you be doing to free your mind, body & space of negative, toxic energy and embrace the fresh beginnings of Spring?
